The members of National Charity League, Inc. are committed to philanthropic work. Our motto is that “We search for charity within ourselves, and strive for the graciousness to share it with others.” We work as mothers and daughters to support many fine community organizations in the belief that our efforts will improve the quality of life of our fellow citizens. Through such work we demonstrate to our daughters the importance of charitable acts and the girls mature to understand and share our standards and ideals.

Our Glendale Chapter is unique in that we own the non-profit retirement home, Twelve Oaks Lodge located in La Crescenta, California. We have enjoyed a thirty-year relationship with Twelve Oaks Lodge, with approximately sixty elderly residents. The Ticktockers also extend their friendship and assistance to the residents through frequent visits.  Often, a special bond between Ticktocker and resident will develop, enriching the lives of both through the rare opportunity to share and understand one another's life experiences.
The girls, over time, develop a sensitivity and love for our seniors and a respect for the contributions of their generations.

As our chapter's primary philanthropy, the Ticktockers,      provide greatly needed services at Twelve Oaks through activities that they plan and implement to benefit the residents. A few such activities include:

  • ice cream socials
  • summer barbeques
  • movie nights
  • bingo parties
  • recreational activities and
  • holiday celebrations

Glendale Ticktockers also pay visits to the residents of two other local senior facilities - Twin Oaks Guest Home, also located in La Crescenta, California and Elms Convalescent Hospital, located in Glendale, California.

In addition, the girls are involved with many other philanthrophies which include:
