How do I become a member?
In order to join National Charity League, Inc., women and their
daughters must be sponsored by current NCL, Inc. members in
good standing and be compatible with the chapter members. Membership
requires a commitment of time, service and a financial obligation.
What are the membership categories?
Members include:
- Patronesses: Women with "Ticktocker" daughters
in grades 7-12.
- Patronesses at Large: Women without daughters in the "Ticktocker"
program.
- Juniors: Women at least 21 years of age.
- Sustaining: Women whose daughters have participated in
the Ticktocker program and are - no
longer active Ticktockers.
What is a Six-Year Plan?
The Six-Year Plan guides Ticktockers through their NCL experience.
The plan provides for philanthropic work, educational activities
and cultural events.
What are the hours requirements?
Each chapter has minimum hour requirements for each year.
Additionally, the range of hours is dependent on grade level
and membership standing.
What events are required?
Chapter meetings and the Mother/Daughter Tea are required;
however, individual chapters may require attendance at additional
activities and events.
What are the financial obligations?
Each chapter sets fees and dues. In general, there is a one-time
entrance fee, annual dues, and other incidentals.
What is a provisional member?
A provisional member is a first year member of NCL.
How many members does NCL have?
There are over 33,000 active members of NCL and growing monthly.
How many chapters are a part of NCL?
Currently there are 141 chapters nationwide. There are also
8 Juniors Groups nationwide.
Where are NCL chapters?
California and Texas are home to the majority of NCL chapters.
East Coast Chapters can be found in:
- Connecticut
- Georgia
- Massachusetts
- North Carolina
Mid America and Rocky Mountain Chapters
are found in:
- Colorado
- Kansas
- Louisiana (Part of Region 1 in Texas)
- Missouri
- Texas
- Utah
West Coast Chapters can be found in:
- Arizona
- California
- Nevada
- Oregon
- Washington
